EXCITED TO MAKE AN AMAZING TRIP TO LADAKH FROM CHENNAI

Watching films like Jab we Met and 3 Idiots creates a wish and refreshes the longing to visit Ladakh. More to it reading the article A STOPOVER IN NO MAN'S LAND by Shikha Tripathi in today's Newspaper THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS made to pen a write up about the wish to travel to Ladakh from Chennai.  The distance between Chennai and Leh is 2359 km. The road distance is 3102.9 km.

Ladakh is the name of a Union Territory and a district of India and Leh (a city) is the Headquarter of this Union Territory and District.
Google confirms that The cheapest way to get from Chennai to Ladakh is to fly which costs ₹8,000 - ₹26,000 and takes 6h 37m. What is the fastest way to get from Chennai to Ladakh? The quickest way to get from Chennai to Ladakh is to fly which costs ₹8,000 - ₹26,000 and takes 6h 37m.

The nearest airport is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport located in Leh. This airport is just 3.8 km away from the main city. Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport is well connected with many international airports in India like Delhi.

Then we need to get a permission to Beyond Rohtang Pass permit of Rs 50 to travel to Leh Ladakh. The other permit of Rs 500 is required by tourists who are traveling only to Rohtang Pass for tourism purposes.

All tourists arriving in Leh have to undergo mandatory 48 hours acclimatization before initiating their journey in higher altitude areas of Leh like Khardung La, Pangong Lake, etc. .”
Self-attested photocopies of a photo identity proof is needed to be attached with the application form. The identity card can only be government issued like a Driving License, Passport, Pan Card, voter ID or an Aadhar card.
The best time to visit Ladakh by road is from mid-May to September as the Leh Manali Highway opens up via Rohtang Pass. Mid-September to mid-October is an amazing time to visit Leh and Ladakh as the place is permeated in flamboyance through the Srinagar-Leh as well as Manali-Leh roads.
There is really no age limit for Ladakh as long as there is no medical history or condition involved. With that being said, personally, I would not prefer taking a child along on a journey to a high-altitude area like Ladakh unless they were at least a couple of years old.
Can we plan a road trip ?
Yes, it is completely okay to go on a Leh Ladakh road trip by your own car. The right time for a road trip will be between June to September as the roads will be open during this time and you can take in more of the Ladakh scenery.
Leh Ladakh is definitely worth a visit. The scenery is breathtaking and there are plenty of interesting things to see and do. Just be prepared for the high altitudes which can take some getting used to if you're not used to them.
Plan ahead and have an exciting trip to Ladakh.
