A TEMPLE WHERE LORD RAMA RESTED

The Divya Kshetram "TIRUPULLAMBOOTHANGUDI" is located 5 kms from Swami Malai near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity is Valvil Raman in a reclining posture, called Bhujanga Sayanam and the Goddess is Hemambujavalli - Potramaraiyal. The sacred water is Jatayu Theertham and the sanctum sanctorum is Sobana Vimanam.

As per the sthala puranam the temple is located at the spot where Lord Rama has rested after offering "Moksham" / salvation in the sanctum, as this temple represents the state where Ravana separated Lord Rama from Sri Sita. There is a separate shrine for Bhooma Devi.

The annual Brahmostavam is being celebrated during the Tamil month of Panguni (March 15-April 13)
