With April
comes the writing festival – A2Z organised by Blog chatter. Here the bloggers
are set to write 26 blogposts in this month in alphabetical order.
I decided to
write under the theme – POEMS WRITTEN BY CONTEMPORARY POETS ON PEOPLE AND
THINGS AROUND. For certain alphabets,
I relaxed myself and took to include poems written by classic poets.
TO begin
with, here is a poem for alphabet- A -
A Little Boy, written by Mel D Gill
A Little Boy
is
Jelly on his face
Dirt under his nails
A patch on his knee
String trailing from
One pocket and
A frog in the other
A Little boy
is
A bag of marbles in
His right hand and
Licorice in the left
He’s a cowboy
today
And a spacemen tomorrow
He’s mud
puddles and
Clothespin boats
A Mother’s
joy
And her sorrow
A little boy
is the angel with
Scrubbed
face and tired smile
Who
blesses mommy and daddy
In his
prayers every night
And
he’s the arms that
Hug you
tight
As you tuck
him
Into bed and
Kiss good night.
This is a
Delightful poem reading which brings back the memories of little boys whom we
met and read about. These
days in advertisements too many little boys are upcoming with extra ordinary
talents watching which brings in us great fun . For example : Watch this and one more for the same product. But the two little boys stand perfect on their roles and deserve an appreciation.
In films like Taare zameen Par and Bumm Bumm Bole, Darsheel was the real fit to the character who did justice & still remains in our hearts.
In the same way in Literature the little boy schwamm from the story A NIGHT AT THE HOTEL by Siegfried Lenz is unforgettable.
The Night at the Hotel, written by Siegfried Lenz, is a touching story of a father’s efforts to help his extremely sensitive son. The child is made of delicate emotional fibre, like a mimosa. When his feelings are not reciprocated, the child behaves irrationally. He becomes resentful in his attitude towards everyone and his work. This story gives us an insight into the character and nature of Schwamm, the father Mr. Schwamm is sensitive to the emotional needs of his son. Despite his poverty, he spends some money, and takes great pains to help his son to make him happy.
In real life too the sight of a child's innocent face can bring immense joy and love. Even in moments of unhappiness, their sweetness can melt one's heart. Children are adored for their guiltless and ingenuous attributes. I believe childhood is the best stage of life because children are unaware and unbothered by life's complexities.
