DRUMROLLS PLEASE

A rapid succession of beats sounded on a drum, often used to introduce an announcement or event.

A drum roll is a series of drumbeats that follow each other so quickly that they make a continuous sound. A drum roll is often used to show that someone important is arriving, or to introduce someone. . A long drum roll introduced the trapeze artists.

THESE ARE USUALLY USED DURING FESTIVALS OR ANY CELEBRATIONS.

The Dhol is a traditional Indian two-headed drum played with sticks. It is an important instrument in both North and South Indian music, and is used to create a variety of rhythms and sounds. This drum is usually made of wood and is played with two sticks, one in each hand.

Percussion instruments like drums, tambourines, and maracas have been integral to rituals, ceremonies, and celebrations across various cultures. These instruments not only produce captivating sounds but also serve as a medium for spiritual and emotional expression.

Humans are a social species, and we love a good beat. Compared to other species, we love to gather in groups, whether for joyful or unhappy reasons. Scientists have determined that the sound of drums alerts our senses and triggers the need to move our bodies.

 THE DRUM'S SIGNIFICANCE

Tribes believed that the sound compares to a human's heartbeat and resembles the heartbeat of Mother Earth. Truly, to the Native American people, when you beat a drum, you do more than make music. The rhythm created from your drum is the foundation of song and prayer.

The process of drumming engages both the linear, rational left side of the brain and the creative, intuitive right side of the brain. The two brain hemispheres often emanate different wave frequencies; drumming, like deep meditation, brings them into synchronization, creating feelings of euphoria and flowing creativity.

Improved mental health is one of the health benefits of drumming. It is proven that drumming releases endorphins in the brain which create feelings of happiness and euphoria. It puts you in a relaxed state which reduces anxiety and tension.

Above all it is a symbol of connection and relationship to all. Drums are often given as gifts in thanks for good work or to acknowledge an important relationship or time in someone's life.
