Reading develops language skills and vocabulary. Reading books is also a
way to relax and reduce stress. It is important to read a good book at least for
a few minutes each day to stretch the brain muscles for healthy functioning.
Whether you're doing it for work or for
pleasure, reading can be extremely
beneficial for your brain, health and general well-being. It can even make you more
compassionate toward people around you.
Studies have shown reading helps reduce stress, likely because it requires
concentration and focus. Researchers at the University of Sussex found that
participants who read for just six minutes experienced reduced muscle tension
and a slower heart rate.
We all know that reading is good for us. It can improve brain and
memory function and keep your brain operating more effectively as you age.
Reading also enhances connectivity in the brain, reduces stress, promotes
relaxation, improves sleep, and has the potential to decrease the likelihood of
developing Alzheimer's.
Not only does regular reading help make you smarter, but it can also actually increase
your brainpower. Just like going for a jog exercises your cardiovascular system,
reading regularly improves memory function by giving your brain a good workout.
In conclusion, reading offers a multitude of benefits that extend beyond
mere entertainment. It enhances cognitive abilities by promoting analytical
thinking and expanding vocabulary. Reading also has emotional advantages, such
as developing empathy and reducing stress levels.
READING REWARDS YOU WITH ENERGY:
In many cases, it may not be possible to completely remove sources of
stress from your life. However, if you are able to reduce your stress levels,
it could help bump up your energy. Strategies to increase your energy levels in
the moment include taking some time for yourself to relax, reading, or going for a walk.
One of
the survey carried out on reading books states that, I Quote “A lot of the
people said reading the book had given them a drastic reduction in anxiety
levels,” she said. “They slept better. A lot of people said they were
energised, they had more energy to tackle the problems. They felt hopeful.”
Reading
is the one of the Strategies to increase your energy levels in the moment. Do
spare time for reading to pep up your energy levels.

ReplyDeleteI was perplexed by the title about reading being an energy booster or some kind of source of power, but I realized after reading this post what exactly it meant. Stress makes us feel burnt out and reading relaxes us, hence we feel less tired and energetic even after reading for a long time, unlike other activities. Also, it is a sedentary activity so we do not use much energy while reading.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading the blogpost.
DeleteYES.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely correct, reading is the best activity there is!
