Calmness is the mental state of peace of mind, being free from agitation,
excitement, or disturbance. It also refers being in a state of serenity, tranquillity, or peace.
Calmness can most easily occur for the average person during a state of relaxation,
but it can also be found during much more alert and aware states.
You might have heard that calm people are highly trusted and they are given prominence because:
* They appear to be psychologically stable
* They appear more confIdent and
self assured.
By projecting these qualities,
recipients of their messages are given due consideration for what they are
saying.
One more special trait is: You act when the time is right or choose not to react. Calm superheros act when the time suits them best. This means you may need to step away from a situation to assess what the best course of action may be.
Having a calming presence can be reflected in various signs, such as speaking in a soothing tone, maintaining a relaxed and open body language, actively listening to others, offering empathy and support, and remaining composed in stressful situations.
In fact, calmness can be considered a superpower that we can all cultivate and harness to our advantage. When we are calm, we are better equipped to handle stress and make rational decisions. Rather than reacting impulsively to situations that arise, we are able to pause and consider our options before taking action.
By practicing mindfulness, you can develop a greater awareness of your reactions and learn to respond rather than react. This heightened awareness can lead to a deeper sense of calm, as you become less reactive to external stimuli and internal disturbances.
