This year's International Literacy Day will be celebrated worldwide under the theme, "Transforming Literacy Learning Spacesand will be an opportunity to rethink the fundamental importance of literacy learning spaces to build resilience and ensure quality, equitable, and inclusive education for all.

International Literacy day is celebrated on September 8th every year Since 1967. It is celebrated around the world to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society.

As part of the International Literacy week celebrations, Pratham Books is organising a story telling session ''ONE DAY, ONE STORY" with volunteers working as READING CHAMPIONS, who will read out the books and tell the story to a group of children gathered at the venue selected by them.

It runs from September 1st to 10th. The venue, date and time are at the discretion of the Reading champions . The  session will  take place  in  two categories one for the children between the age group of 3 to 8 years, the other will be  for the children in the age group of 8 to 12 years.

The books suggested by the PRATHAM BOOKS for this story telling session are

1. CROAK - Written by Kavitha Punniyamurthi and illustrated by Ekta Bharti

Pratham books provides the copy of the book at free of cost to the reading champions along with a banner.
