This Divya Kshetram ( TIRUVAARANVILAI / ARANMULA) is located on the banks of the river pampa, 9 Kms from Chengannur near Kottayam in Kerala. The presiding deity is Parthasarathy also called Tirukkuralappan. The goddess is padmasini. The sacred water is pampa and the sanctum sanctorum is vamana vimanam.
This kshetram is believed to have been built by Arjuna of the Pandavas. It is also believed that Lord Vishnu revealed to Brahma the knowledge of creation at this kshetram.
Built by Arjuna? I suppose that's just myth. "Legend has it that the Pandava princes, after crowning Parikshit as king of Hastinapura left on a pilgrimage. On arriving on the banks of river Pamba, each one is believed to have installed a tutelary image of Krishna." [Wikipedia]
