28 INTERESTING GAMES TO PLAY AT HOME-GAME-19

GAME 19

On the Nineteenth day of the campaign #WRITE A PAGE A DAY, COLOUR COLOUR ENNA COLOUR an interesting game which is played in the house holds of Tamil Nadu will be presented in detail. Children enjoy this game very much as it about colour and things around them.

At first basic requirements of the game:

Number of persons: Minimum 5

Preferred age group: Above the age of 10

Duration of the play: half an hour

Best time to play:  Evenings or night

Preferred surface: on the floor

Things required to play:  that hall or living room should have many colourful items or things around the players.

How to play:  The game starts with toss with “shaboo three” and the player who is out in the toss should stand in a corner. The rest of the players all together stand at another corner and discuss secretly and finalise a colour which is in a thing or an item nearby or around them.

Then the group of players ask the one who is standing in the corner –“COLOUR, COLOUR ENNA COLOUR? Then the one will try to guess the colour and answer the group of players. If he/she guesses the correct colour in the first attempt itself, then the group should run and touch the item or thing in which the colour appears without being caught by the other one. If anyone in the group is caught by the other one, then he/she should stand in the corner and the other one should join the group.

If the other one is unable to guess the colour in the first attempt, he/she is given few more chances with the same question –“COLOUR, COLOUR, ENNA COLOUR? The other one standing in the corner can guess the colour he/she finds in the objects or things in the play area. Because the group should finalises the colour they are able to touch. The other one should try to catch any one player while they run to touch the said colour. The same procedure is followed till all the players get a chance to guess the colour.

Reference to this game:  Reference to this game can be found in the children’s rhymes books and story books carry details about the show pieces in the households and how they make the game more exciting.
