Coimbatore is an important industrial city and the third largest city of Tamil Nadu. It is an also called Manchester of South India and there are many places to see.
V.O.C. PARK AND ZOO : It is at the center of Coimbatore city and is well maintained by Govt. corporation. This park serves as a recreation place for the people. A main zoo is also there with toy trains
Coimbatore Courtallam : It is 2.5 Kms from Chinnavanacholai Chavadi on the way to Siruvani from Coimbatore. A waterfalls is here and one can bathe here after obtaining permission from forest department.
Siruvani Dam : It is the main water supplier of Coimbatore city and is situated at 27 Kms from Coimbatore. A beautiful waterfalls is near to this dam. The view of the dam and the waterfalls are with a beauty.
Velliyangiri Hills : It is called south Kailash. Frequent bus services are available from Gandhipuram of Coimbatore to reach this hill. A temple is in the this hill. Those who perform prayers here feel the satisfaction of performing prayers to the Icy Lingam in Himalayas.
Aliyar Dam : It is on the pollachi - Walparai road. The park situated in this dam attracts the tourists . Monkey falls is at a walkable distance from Aliyar Dam.
Walparai : It is at 102 Kms from Coimbatore. Tea estates and dense forests are found here. A familiar temple in the name of Balaji is also here. Frequent bus transport facilities are available from Coimbatore and Pollachi to Walparai.
Thirumoorthy Hills : It is at 21 Kms from Udumalai. At the foot of this hill, the Amaralingeswarar temple is there. Pancha Lingam is on the hill at a distance of 900 meters. Thirumoorthy waterfalls is at 1.5 Kms from temple. Tourists can bathe in the waterfalls.
Museum: G.D. Naidu Museum is on the Coimbatore Avinasi road. The valuable articles and things produced by G.D. Naidu are kept here for public exhibition.
Botanical garden is in the campus of the University of Agriculture of Coimbatore. This park also attracts tourists.
Coimbatore provides various amusement facilities at lowest cost. Among the various entertainments, water theme park is notable. It is situated in Siruvani Main road at 10 Kms on the Gandhipuram - perur road.
