SMART BIKES ARE ECO FRIENDLY AND GREAT WAY TO ROAM AROUND CHENNAI

 

 

 I was happened to see the SMART BIKE board in  shanthi colony Annanagar- a suburb in Chennai from almost a month always in a vehicle that too in the opposite of the road. So the chance of having a closer look at it was not possible.

This time I walked to that point and while crossing the road, A fruit seller voluntarily started  a conversation with me about the smart bike and  that he is unable to use it as he don’t  have an android  phone and can’t read  English too.

An android phone is a must to use the smart bike was the final statement of the fruit seller. I just smiled and thanked him for the information and crossed the road without any delay.

Stood in front of the smart bikes and took photos with my cell phone. Smart bike is an initiative by Greater Chennai Corporation and Chennai Smart City Limited.

There are feeder stations at many locations through- out the city.

Smart bikes can be used with the help of the smart bike mobility app.

Download the smart bike app and with it smart bike is given for rent. Use it as long as you need it and park in the nearest feeder

This App helps you to rent , park and return the smart bike. There are three types of subscriptions and the charges vary according to the type. Beneficiary free rides are also given. "Pay as you go" helps to enjoy the ride and pay only for the used rides, no extra or hidden charges. You need to be cautious, if you return outside the designated smart bike stations you have to pay extra as towing charges.

After a spectacular success in Hyderabad and New Delhi, SMART BIKE is now in Chennai. This has brought in a fresh ray of hope to minimise the pollution caused by vehicles. Chennai is heading towards an Eco friendly environment.
