1.Cook red gram till very soft
2. Soak tamarind and extract juice
3. Fry coriander seeds, red chillies, bengal gram, black gram, fenugreek , Asafoetida and coconut in a little fat and grind to a soft paste.
4. Add the paste, tamarind juice, garam masala, curry leaves and washed rice to cooked gram. Add salt.
5. Add sufficient hot water to cook the mixture by absorption method.
6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and fried cashew nuts
7. Serve hot with clarified butter
