Cherrapunjee  is 54 Km from Shillong.  The place is impressive with waterfalls and the deep gorges. The stunning views of the plains of  Bangladesh are visible. Cheerapunjee's oranges and honey are famous and are available at sohra market.

The two main attractions of cherrapunjee are waterfalls and root bridges. When we  witness these spectacle, Nature is at its best in the form of gushing waterfalls and the local people brought their best practice in the form of a root bridge.

Nohsngithiang Falls, Dainthein Falls, Nohkailikal Falls and many smaller falls are all the Nature's best and make sure to add it in the itinerary.

Cherrapunjee is also famous for its living root bridges.50 people can walk upon it  at  a time and it offers a unique experience and joy.

  1. How interesting! The root bridges are so cool!! Would love to visit this place some day. I have a friend from Shillong who often talks about the purity of the water there. They drink right from the source.
