Content Creators often begin as Freelancers or
Junior Content Creators, honing their craft and building a portfolio. With
experience, they may become Content Specialists, focusing on a niche or medium,
and start strategizing content for brands.
I heard people saying that you
don't necessarily need special skills or training to become a successful
content creator. If you can consistently produce content, and share your ideas
in a fun and engaging way, you will succeed and may even become many people's
favorite creator, too!
But….
It's common knowledge that content
creation can be an immensely rewarding career. However, what's less commonly
known is how much strategy, hard work, and resilience are required to reap
those rewards.
Blogger/content creator:
So, what is a blogger—at its core,
a blogger is an online content creator who uses their platform to share
their thoughts, experiences, and expertise on a specific topic or niche. They craft
articles that resonate with their audience.
Blogging tends to be more
conversational and informal, while content writing is often more professional
and formal. In blog writing, the tone is usually more casual and relaxed. The
author may use humor, anecdotes, and personal stories to engage the reader. The
language is often simple and easy to understand.
Bloggers often emphasize personal
narratives and opinions in written form, fostering intimate connections with
readers. At the same time, content creators leverage diverse mediums such as
videos, podcasts, and social media to engage viewers across multiple platforms.
How much hard work?
There’s a lot to do. Depending on
your platforms of choice you'll have various administrative tasks that go
alongside posting your content too. Time and effort will have to be given to
researching keywords, learning new tools, and handling the business side of
things.
The hardest part about blogging is
finding the time and ideas you'll need to do it consistently. Getting
started, however, is fairly straightforward.
Blogging is pure hard work, with a
0% guarantee of instant success. It is rather a time-consuming and
persistent job that requires at least 3 to 5 years, to even make you exist
significantly among other already famous fellow bloggers.
The time it takes to regularly
work on a blog depends on several factors. Writing blog posts, doing research,
promoting content – all these take at least 5 hours per week, often more.
Successful content creators
understand the importance of exercising their writing muscles, even if
they're not bloggers or writers by focus. Doing so helps flesh out ideas and
identify nuggets that could come to fruition later. It is also needed for
creating video scripts, podcast notes, and snappy post captions.
As a far-reaching field, content
creator responsibilities can vary greatly, but they're likely to include some
or all of the following: Writing, editing, blogging, and updating content
for everything from brochures and marketing and promotional materials to
emails, websites, blogs, and more.
So, buckle up and get ready for a
wild ride — blogging is hard, but with the right mindset and approach,
it's also incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. The one thing that I found in
every seasoned blogger's tips is to find your niche topic or topics at the
beginning of your Blogging Journey.
I’m still struggling to make a
mark in this chosen field of blogging. With persistent hard work, my blog turns
8 today.
Wish me luck!
