DADDY DEAR

 DADDY DEAR

Strong as a mountain,

Mild, like the summer breezes;

Missed, like the rainbow!

This poem is written by Evelyn Judy Buehler

Daddy is an informal word for father. When fathers connect on an emotional level and invest in building relationships with their children the increase in physical, mental and social well-being is profound. Fathers have a very important role to play in building emotionally and socially healthy children.

Fathers who spend time with their children provide a sense of security and authority to the family. Children look to their fathers for comfort and assurance whenever they feel insecure or uncertain. Thus, it is important for fathers to make time for their young children and learn to interact positively with them.

Fathers teach important skills like confidence, resilience, respect and kindness to their children. It is extremely important that as fathers teach their children about values, they also focus on teaching and modeling self-confidence, resilience, respect and kindnessHere you can read about 12 memorable fathers from Literature.

 Bollywood has given a whole lot of films on the role of daddy in a family and how they influence the children’s lives. But here is a film with the title DADDY, You can watch it here

The roles of dads evolve and change as our children change and as we dads change. There is no one right way to be a good father and great parenting can look very different from one man to the next. We do know that when fathers are present, we can make a difference in our children’s lives in many ways.

What do you say?  What’s the favourite thing you got from your father after a long wait? Do share it in the comments.
