4 TYPES OF LAKES


Natural Lakes are formed when the supply of water to a basin is greater than the amount of water lost by evaporation and seepage.

Lakes tend to be classified according to the mode of origin of their basin.

1.    Strike –slip fault lake

2.    Volcanic lake

3.    Tarn

4.    Oxbow lake
