STAYING SANE : MY PERSONAL TOOLS FOR INNER CALM

   





First and foremost, to stay in a sane and peaceful state of mind, I try not to get caught up in difficult or disturbing situations. I intentionally keep myself away from content—whether it’s visual, audio, or written—that may disturb my calm. I consciously avoid all such “anti-sane” influences.

However, despite all caution, we may sometimes face unexpected situations that shake our peace. At such times, I try to remain quiet and gently guide myself back to my comfort zone by turning to one of the following:

Music:
I have saved songs on my pen drive, with a special playlist for each day of the week—from Sunday to Saturday—featuring different genres and languages. I usually listen to them every morning. If something upsetting happens, I simply replay the songs of the day. Music uplifts me and helps me regain my inner calm.

Chanting and Prayer:
Chanting is part of my daily routine. It certainly helps me remain centered. When pressure builds up—whether from work or life—I take my prayer beads and start chanting divine names. This gives me a sense of support, helping me feel relaxed and steady enough to understand the situation and protect my peace of mind.

Reading My Favourite Magazine – Femina:
To relax and unwind, I turn to my favourite magazine, Femina. Whether it’s a new edition or an old one, I enjoy reading a few articles. It lifts my spirits and helps me notice and appreciate the positive things around me.
