This is called beach sundal because they are the most popular beach snack. As a chennaite, I have tasted these sundals many a time.

SUDA SUDA THENGA MANGA PATTANI SUNDAL:

Boiled legumes, spiced with tiny pieces of peeled mangoes, carrots, grated coconut, green chilies, coriander, curry leaves, oil, and salt are the ingredients that make a lip-smacking portion of 'suda suda thenga manga pattani sundal'

This sundal (seasoned legumes) taste yummy with the sour taste of raw mango.  It is commonly known as Beach sundal, very famous in Tamil Nadu.

If you happen to visit the Gorgeous Marina Beach, you cannot miss innumerable vendors selling this snack on the move. They carry a steel vessel with a handle and paper cones. Your visit to the beach is incomplete without indulging in this Thenga Maanga Pattani Sundal. The name of this tangy healthy snack is given by the street vendors of the beach.
