The Thiruppavai is a collection of
30 stanzas, or pasurams composed by Andal each with 8 lines that praise the
Lord. Some lessons from the Thiruppavai include:
Surrender: Surrender to the
Lord and detach from materialistic desires.
Ignorance: Ignorance prevents
one from realizing the purpose of life.
Approach a guru: Approach a
guru or Acharya to remove ignorance and attain the Lord.

Lord's name, offer flowers, and be in Satsang.
Serve the Lord: Pray to
Perumal to be able to serve Him as much as possible.
Be Uthaman: Be Uthaman, which
means to save others even at personal risk.

any day, but some say it has a special charm during Margazhi.
