The use of Spectacles by kids, adults
to old age people is on the rise due to various reasons. The need to maintain
it remains the same for everyone. Here are a few practices involved in
maintaining the spectacles in good condition
Glasses should typically last
between one to three years; however, the average lifespan of a pair of
glasses can vary depending on the frame quality and how well you take care of
them.
Keeping it inside the case
protects it from dust, dirt, scratches, and falls. So, use a rigid case
for your eyewear with enough padding from the inside. It will help if you rinse
your glasses off with water at least once a day.
Firstly, clean your glasses
regularly. This doesn't mean just wiping them on your shirt; proper cleaning
involves using a microfiber cloth and a cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh
chemicals as they can damage the lens coating. Secondly, handle your glasses
with care.
Clean your glasses with the
provided cloth and cleaning spray. To avoid scratching your lenses, try not to
clean them when they are dry). If you feel your glasses need a stronger clean,
run the lenses under warm (not hot) running water. Then dip them in soapy water
and rub them gently with your fingers.
Rinse the lenses and frames
thoroughly with lukewarm water to remove any soap residue. Shake off the
excess water and use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently dry the eyewear. Avoid
using tissues or paper towels, as they can leave behind fibers.
Do remember whenever you are not
wearing them, store your glasses in the glasses case. There are two benefits to
this: Your eyewear is safe from dust and dirt and there are minimal chances of
them getting scratched, bent, or broken.
These
are basics in handling a spectacle. Help your kid with these pointers and assist
elderly people in doing so because Clean and clear lenses will ensure unrestricted
vision.
