READING IN THE YEAR 2024 SO FAR

Immersing yourself in a good book is excellent for stress relief; Reading for as little as six minutes daily can lower stress levels by 60%. It physically helps to reduce our heart rate, ease muscle tension, and ease into a relaxed state of mind.

My reading routine has little improved with the participation in the #TBR challenges in Blog Chatter and Good Reads with a meagre target of 24 books in a year.

Though by the end of June, I had completed reading 12 books as per the set time and target, this year’s TBR took many twists and turns.

Thought of reading certain books, but got into reading new ones along with favourite casual reads like –

DELHI IS NOT FAR by Ruskin Bond

GRANDMA’S BAG OF STORIES by Sudha Murty

SHORT STORIES by Bret Harte

Moreover with many personal engagements couldn’t find time to write reviews for books like:

Same as Ever By Morgan Housel

It didn’t start with you by Mark Wolynn

Tales of the Open Road by Ruskin Bond

The power of fun by Catherine Price

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

An Oak Tree in the Garden by Narendra Murty

Whereas with regard to the following books, reading, writing, reviewing, and sharing on social media and other sites were carried out promptly.

1. Late blooming cherries

2. Tasty tiffin

3. Starry starry nights

4. Brave inked emotions

5. Take your time and hurry up

.6.The less you preach the more you learn

Reading is a lifelong skill that improves memory, builds a robust vocabulary and foundation of knowledge, and adds a richness and depth of meaning to life for all those who can access true, deep comprehension and gradually leads towards True reading.

True reading means complete involvement. Understanding the essence of every book, every chapter, every paragraph, every sentence, every word! True reading means taking the book to the heart!

That’s why Reading is considered as one of the best habits anyone can possess. Reading helps a great deal in building our confidence, reduces stress, and puts us in a better mood. It also develops our imagination and provides us with a fortune of knowledge.

With regular reading, I expect my reading to improve gradually to meet my TBR goals.
