Arunachal Pradesh is bringing in an adventure spot in the form of a new peak - MUGAFI for the tourists and is sure to be a trekker's delight. It is at 4,050 metres above mean sea level.
Miao and Vijayanagar are in Changlang district of eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The people of the state believe that the 157 km road to Vijaynagar, the circle headquarters, from the nearest connected town Miao would be helpful to reach the spot.
Mugafi is part of the five pass trek that the villagers have mapped around Vijaynagar - Gphuka, Chaukan, Hukawng and siddi are the other treks.
The road to Mugafi passes through the 1,985 sq.km Namdapha national Park and Tiger Reserve.
The road is almost completed barring the black topping of a stretch of about 25 km and it is the unexplored part of the country which will be open once the road becomes motorable for adventure seekers. That day will offer a grand welcome to the trekkers around the world.
Mugafi is 40kms from Vijaynagar, with alpine meadows, orchid trails and birding. Along with this tourist can combine other destinations like Preet Nagar Lake and the Hornbill camp in Namdapha.
Overall this is a fine effort and one that would make the tourists seek out this new landmark next time during their trip to Arunachal Pradesh.
