AN ANCIENT TEMPLE IN A PLACE CALLED LAKSHMI VANAM

The Divya kshetram TIRUKKANNAMANGAI also called KRISHAMANGALA KSHETRAM is located 6 Kms west of Thiruvarur in TamilNadu.

The presiding deity is Bhakthavatsala Perumal in  a standing posture and the Goddess is Abhishekavalli. The sacred water is Darshana Pushkarini and the Sanctum sanctorum is utpala vimanam

The legend is that Goddess Lakshmi worshipped Lord Vishnu here and hence it is called Lakshmi Vanam. It is believed that by residing in this kshetram for  a day would enable one to be liberated of the cycle of births and deaths.

A large beehive is located in the sanctum of Goddess Abhishekavalli and it is believed that the Rishies (saints) in the form of bees offer worship to the deity. Worship is also offered by devotees to the beehives.

In the temple there is a beautiful sculpture of Lord Vishnu mounted on Garuda.
