FEW POINTS ON GREEN WARRIOR VIVEK

 Plants are the best part of nature and plants bring in lots of  greenery and that makes our surroundings beautiful and healthy to live in. A green warrior named Vivek, started a campaign of planting trees to fight against global warming. Lets get to know more about this green personality:

Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam  was also India's first Paryavaran Ambassador and took an environment oath that read as "I will plant and nurture 10 trees and will ensure that my family and neighbours also plant 10 trees each". His vision was "Billion Trees for Billion People by 2016". Make a difference for our planet today!

Under the 'Green Kalam' initiative Vivek launched as per the wishes of his friend and role model, former President APJ Abdul Kalam, he started planted saplings across Tamil Nadu with a target to cover 1 crore. He may have been an actor by profession. But Vivek is seen more as a green warrior and environment ambassador who inspired many people to plant and celebrate trees.

He had launched the ‘Green Kalam’ project, a massive tree planting drive in 2011 and by 2021 had planted nearly 33.23 lakh saplings so far. He passed in April 2021.

Fans are happy with the government's recognition of late actor Vivek and thank the government on social media. Fans have also taken hands on the unfilled dream of Vivek and are planting tree saplings across places to achieve the one-crore mark.

Vivek was known for his environmental activism and worked closely with former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. For his contribution towards greener tomorrow, Tamil Nadu government has given his name to the street in which he lived. The road in Virugambakkam  has been renamed as Chinna Kalaivanar Vivek Road.
