PLANT A PLANTAIN TREE AND PLAN TO REAP PLENTY OF ITS BENEFITS
Simply speaking ,Gardening is an activity of growing plants for their attractive flowers or foliage, and vegetables or fruits for consumption. This is done as a hobby by many and apart from greenery around, there are numerous benefits of Gardening.
Generally in South India almost every house has a mango, coconut and plantain tree.
On the day of House warming itself as a ritual at least one among the above said three tree is planted. There is a Tamil quote praising the plantain tree " VAZHAIYADI VAZHAIYAGA" meaning continuous progress.
Among those "Plantain tree" is considered most auspicious to plant first in the house. This tree is simple to maintain and demands no bigger tasks. Watering, soil addition, are done to it at regular intervals. Within six months it starts to supply:
*Plantain leaves
*Plantain flower
* Raw banana
*Banana
*Plantain bulb
* Plantain tree is used as festoons at marriage halls, temples etc.
*Wicks for lighting lamps are prepared with the fiber of the plantain bulb
*Fiber of the plantain tree is dried and used to tie garlands and flowers
*The strap covering the plantain bulb is used to support band aid and used as pads while playing cricket
These are the wonderful produces given by a Plantain tree. Plant a tree, create greenery, enjoy its supplies and continue gardening.
