If you love quizzing, here is a chance to take a quiz . It 's on the novel pride and prejudice of Jane Austen. Just get to know few points on the great novelist before taking the quiz.

Jane Austen was born on December 16, 1775, at Steventon, a tiny village amid the chalk of North Hants. Jane was the youngest of seven children, and her life was singularly tranquil and uneventful. In person she was "a tall, slender, clear brunette" with hazel eyes, good features, and curly brown hair. In temperament cool, detached, reserved, keenly humorous.

Faithful observation, personal detachment, and a fine sense of ironic comedy are among Jane Austen's chief characteristics as a writer. The secret of her power lies in the complete mastery she has as an artist over her material.

An instance of situational irony in "pride and Prejudice" is the famous line "She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me." by this phrase, proud Mr Darcy is meant to express how a woman like Elizabeth, who is not of a high social status as he is, has no chance in ever tempting him to fall in love with her.

The novel Pride and prejudice is narrated by a third -person omniscient narrator. The narrator has access to the thoughts and feelings of the character and describes these to the readers.  The narrator of the novel also frequently adds commentary about characters and their actions, which shapes the reader's perception.

The novel reflects many of the social issues and themes of its day, including war, the domestic life of the landed gentry, and questions of gender and inheritance.
