1. A rock or mineral is considered an ore if the valuable commodity it
contains can be profitably extracted.
2. Some ores contain less than one per cent of the precious material.
3. Most ores form either by sedimentary, magmatic, or hydrothermal processes.
4. Haematite-iron ore, gold in quartz –
gold ore, cinnabar- mercury ore, bauxite-aluminium ore, galena-lead ore
