Cleanliness is next to Godliness, cleaning requires a lot of effort and planning to obtain a desired result. Cleaning is done for the purpose of hygiene, appearance and to prevent deterioration. It needs to be done in a procedural way to remove dust, dirt or any foreign matter, which largely depends on the furniture and flooring. The common procedure involves:

To reduce the workload and minimise the strain, these cleaning works can be easily divided and carried out on a leisurely basis. Weekends can be used for specific cleaning process at home, with daily cleaning of basics and spring cleaning the other at the best possible time like before festivities.

Daily cleaning can be made easy by doing it in the morning itself so that the dust which is settled in the night may not be stirred up again. Start by airing the home by opening the windows. This action can be exempted during cold seasons. Before sweeping, cover the upholstery and difficult to clean pieces with protective materials. The rugs and doormats needs to be taken out of the room and shake well. Then clean the room by dusting and mopping.

In bedroom, bed should be made good and other things should be arranged properly. In the living rooms the cushions should be neat and placed in well. Old newspapers and flowers to be replaced with new and fresh ones. Dustbins should be emptied. The curtains also should be well shaken.  

Weekly cleaning requires more time than regular cleaning for thorough cleaning and polishing. Weekly cleaning includes removal of cobwebs from rooms, cupboards and dusting of high boards, cupboards tops and wall coverings. A stool or step ladder is highly helpful. Articles which require special attention are then attended such as paintings, polishing, metal pieces, windows and necessary polish of furniture.

Spring cleaning is a task which includes plumbing and electric works apart from furniture and floor works. Sometimes its best to complete white wash & painting work. Change of interiors can also be added with this cleaning programme. If this is done before festivities, it will add more glow to the celebrations. Pay attention towards:
