Environment day is observed every year on June
5th. Environment can be defined as the surroundings in which we
live. Birds, animals, water, mountains and sky all comes under Environment. To
maintain all these in good condition, the process of conservation is a must.
Let’s make some little effort in order to protect the environment.
· Act towards minimizing air, water and sound
pollution.
Reduce the use of crackers, minimise
garbage, segregate degradable & non degradable
waste, avoid dumping near water bodies, participate in cleaning works, adapt to
car- pooling and cycling, plant more
trees, include Ashoka trees.
Try to install solar plant and use solar power
as far as possible.
This can be
installed in households too. Basing on the requirement, the size can be altered
and fixed in a suitable place in the terrace.
· Use gadgets only for purposeful activities.
Technology needs to be put to use
with care &concern for the nature.
·
Electricity can be used in a limited way by
switching to more natural form than electric appliances. Like opting for a brick chimney, consuming no
power, making no sound and requiring no cleaning. (concept from an article of Architect
Sathya Prakash Varanashi who works on eco-friendly designs)
·
Support the groups that organise awareness
camps & campaigns.
Participate in
nature walks and talk shows about conserving wildlife, restoring sanctuaries, Zoos,
Parks & beaches.
·
Get to know more about techniques and ways to
save environment.
Rain water
harvesting & avoiding plastics are the major ones in this regard.
·
Minimise paper waste and don’t teach children
about use & throw.
·
Practice recycle, repair, re use.
