THYAGARAJAR- A MUSICAL SAINT & COMPOSER

                                             

Today the 6^th of January 2018 is a special day in the musical calendar & for all musician & for music lovers too. According to the Tamil calendar, the PUSHYA BHAGULAPANCHAMI is the day the saint attained sammadhi and this is observed  as THYAGARAJAR ARADHANA every year by all the musicians. This year mark the 171^st ARADHANA of the saint musician &composer.

                                

 As a mark of respect &homage to the great musician, people from across the globe assemble near his SAMADHI &sing in unison his PANCHARATNA KRITIS. This includes Vocalists, mrudangam, flute, veena, kanjira, ghatam, nadaaswaram,& violin artist.

                                                     

 The place is THIRUVAIYARU a small town on the banks of the river Cauvery in Tanjore district of TAMILNADU.

        

                                             

Saint THYAGARAJAR has composed many thousands of kritis and the five gems of his work were stated as PANCHARATNA KRITIS &these five are:
