READ ABOUT THE BOOKS, CHARACTERS AND THE WAYS TO BE LIGHT- HEARTED

Being light-hearted means being free from anxiety, care, or seriousness, and being cheerful and optimistic. It can also mean being easy going. For example, you might feel light-hearted when you're with friends and everyone is there to have fun.

The term "light-hearted" can also be used to describe something that is intended to be amusing or entertaining, and not serious. Synonyms of light-hearted include: carefree, happy, bright, and glad.  Something that is light-hearted is intended to be entertaining or amusing, and not at all serious.

Someone who is light-hearted is cheerful and happy. They were light-hearted and prepared to enjoy life.

A light-hearted personality is characterized by traits such as:

Cheerfulness, Free from care, Optimism and Easy-going. They often possess a good sense of humor and find joy in laughter. They may use humor to cope with challenges or to uplift others. Light-hearted people are often playful and enjoy having fun.

A person can be considered to be "light-hearted" if they are someone who does not dwell on problems, does not have a negative outlook on life. A light-hearted person would tend to think positively, have hope or faith that things are not as bad as they might appear. They "look on the bright side of life".

Here are some tips for being light-hearted:

Nurture your mind with positive thoughts like kindness, empathy, compassion, peace, love, joy, humility, and generosity.

Give up your need to impress others, complain, control, always be right, or blame others.

Give up your resistance to change, labels, fears, or living your life to other's expectations.

Bring your creativity together with your heart's desire. Light-heartedness comes when you combine your creativity with your personal heart's desire or vision.

Being light-hearted and playful can improve our mood and help us loosen up and let go. Taking time to play relaxes us, is a form of stress relief, and fights depression. It is good for our heart/immune system and gives our internal systems much-needed rest.

Here are some light-hearted literary characters:

Dyson

A hilarious character from Michael Frayn's 1967 novel Towards the End of the Morning. Dyson is a journalist who runs a department in a daily newspaper and dreams of becoming a celebrity.

Billy

A character by Frank Richards who is a fat man in glasses who has adventures and is idiosyncratic. Billy is optimistic and waits for a postal order that never comes.

Trust your creativity and inner light.

Not let darkness terrify you.

Use comedy to remove the sting of the truth.

Notice the good things in life, like the sky or a piece of music.

 Surprise yourself with some laughter.

I hope the New Year 2025 will strengthen us to be light-hearted personalities.
