The Krishna Ashtakam, written
by Adi Sankaracharya, is chanted by devotees of Lord Krishna with utmost
devotion, as it is said that reciting the stotram with a pure heart helps one
to get his blessings. The word ashtakam originates from the Sanskrit word ashta
(aṣṭā), which means eight.
This is an octet (ashtakam = 8
verses) of prayer to Lord Krishna, as the Guru of the entire universe. Shri
Krishna Ashtakam is a worshiping prayer devoted to Lord Krishna, praising
his powers and glory. Ashtakam means a prayer which contains eight hymns (slokas).

is composed of four phrases, each describing one quality or great act of Sri

It abolishes all negativity
from one's household, filling it with positive vibes. Some devotees even
believe that regularly chanting the ashtakam can help one eliminate many
diseases, promoting general well-being and filling their home with affluence,
positivity, and contentment.
Krishnashtakam is a sacred chant
to Krishna that some people listen to on Krishna Janmashtami, which is
celebrated on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of
Bhadrapada. Some say that listening to Krishnashtakam on this day can
bring prosperity.
Do listen to it here first and then
read along with it once.
HAPPY JANMASHTAMI
