Conservation of nature means the preservation of
forests, land, water bodies, and minerals, fuels, natural gases, etc. And
to make sure that all these continue to be available in abundance. Thus all
these natural resources make life worth living on Earth.
Conservation is the protection of things found in
nature. It requires the sensible use of all Earth's natural resources: water,
soil, minerals, wildlife, and forests. People who care about conservation try
to preserve natural resources so they will still be around in the future.
The protection, preservation, management, or restoration of
natural environments and the ecological communities that inhabit them.
Conservation is generally held to include the management of human use of
natural resources for current public benefit and sustainable social and
economic utilization.
The five things that can be done to conserve natural resources are as follows:
Use water judiciously by using less water during day-to-day activities.
Turn off lights when not in use.
Promoting the use of renewable energy.
Implementing the principle of 3 R's (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse).
Taking Action for Natural Resources Conservation:
For example, individuals can turn off water taps and lights
to conserve fresh water and energy resources. Individuals can also conserve
plant-based natural resources by purchasing only the amount that is necessary
for consumption, therefore reducing waste.
Be a green gardener by using pest-free compost and natural fertilizers
and pesticides. Plant native species and be kind to all the insects and birds
that feed on flower nectar and pollinate the fruits. If you can, support local
wildlife around your home by setting up bee hotels, bird boxes, ponds, and
green roofs.
This includes conserving water and fossil fuels, as well as
working to ensure that all species have safe and appropriate habitats and
access to the resources they need to survive and give way to future
generations. Nature conservation also aims to protect life forms and non-living
entities alike.
By volunteering, interning, being mindful of our own
actions, providing financial support, advocating, getting involved in local
conservation efforts and supporting sustainable agriculture, we can all make a
positive impact on the environment and help to preserve wildlife and their
habitats for future generations.
