All children misbehave at times – it's just a normal part of
growing up. As they get
older, kids test out rules and boundaries. How they misbehave is different for
every child.
Kids will struggle to resist the urge to do something they shoudn't
until at least the age
of 4. But they're not doing it to
be “naughty”. They aren't trying to provoke, inconvenience or annoy. They are
just discovering the world.
The child throws a temper tantrum and maybe even tries to open a few gifts, despite their parent's
warnings. The naughty child is removed from participating in the activities or
even taken home. This should be avoided.
When your child turns naughty, instead of punishing them, try to teach
them what discipline is. Correct them where they go wrong and make them hold
the responsibility for their behavior. Let them know how to behave in certain
situations and always encourage them to avoid those bad behaviors and do better
next time.
Most naughty
children are curious creative, and intelligent. However, they also like to
get their hands dirty. Spend some time playing
together with them, ask them to help you make lunch, or do some finger painting
outside together. It's good to give your child some time to play by themselves, but it
is also important to spend time playing together and nurturing your
relationship.
Being naughty is a
part of children’s growing up. So, support them to overcome it and gift them a
happy child hood memories.
Happy children’s
day to all the little ones out there.
