STEPPING INTO TBR CHALLENGE 2023

"She read books as one would breathe air, to fill up and live" - Annie Dillard

But for me this is the first time  I'm participating in the Blog chatter's #TBR challenge . It is also the first campaign of 2023 for which I have decided to be a part and give my best.

My goal for TBR  2023 is to complete reading 24 books.  I plan to finish reading two books per month and update my reading profile thoroughly.

Though  the habit of  reading books started from my school days, I never had the  courage to participate in any challenge. The reason for that being  initially books were read in the library and later  books were bought home from the library but never able to buy many on my own. Newspapers, magazines and text books were major part of my Reading routine other than books.

The information about  New releases, book launch, give aways and on line shopping were very minimal till had an account in the social media and was able to know only those books that are sold by the local book stores and stocked in the library.  All these lead to a delayed start of participating in reading challenges.

Actually TBR stands for To Be Read. It is nothing but a basic reading list containing all the names of books that you would like to read. Generally, people keep adding on to this list and the names of the book ultimately keep piling up says Google.

Among the 24 books, 10 books were chosen and the list is ready right now and the rest will be added on the go.  In the TBR,   under non fiction - biography, poetry, Literature, content creation &  cook books finds place along with fiction.

1. BROWN GIRLS by Daphne Palasi Andreades

2.  THE GIFT  by  Cecelia Ahern

3. THE MANY LIVES OF MANGALAMPALI BALAMURALIKRSIHNA by Sai Veejay

4. TIFFEN -MEMORIES AND RECIPES OF INDIAN VEGETARIAN FOOD  by Rukmini Srinivas

5. BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH : WRITINGS ON THE INDIAN HILLS edited by Ruskin Bond and Bulbul Sharma

6. THE DISMANTLING OF INDIA by T.J.S. George

7.  EVERYBODY WRITES by Ann Handley

8. REDISCOVERING INDIA FOR INDIANS by P.S. Chitambaran

9. BECOMING by Michelle Obama

10. GREAT WORKS OF MARK TWAIN - (All stories complete and unabridged)

Prepared myself to start with these. Reading is not only going to help us to complete our TBR, more  to it “Reading can even relax your body by lowering your heart rate and easing the tension in your muscles confirms a  2009 study at the University of Sussex found that reading can reduce stress by up to 68%.”  .
Take up the TBR challenge 2023 and enjoy the year with awesome reading time.
