A TEMPLE WHERE RELIGIOUS DEBATE HELD IN SIRKAZHI

The Divya kshetram TIRUKAZHICHEERAMA VINNAGARAM is located in Sirkazhi town in Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity is Trivikraman seen measuring the three worlds - Ulagalanda perumal.  The goddess is Lokanayaki.  The sacred water is sangu chakra pushkarani and the sanctum sanctorum is pushkalavartha vimanam.

The legend is that Lord Vishnu blessed Romesa Muni with a vision of Trivikrama with his left foot raised in the gesture of dominating the three worlds.

It is believed that Tirumangai Azhwar was conferred the title Nalukavi perumal on his winning the religious debate with Tirugnana Sambandar and obtaining a 'vel' as prize.
