28 INTERESTING GAMES TO PLAY AT HOME-GAME-18

 

GAME 18

On the eighteenth day of the campaign #WRITE A PAGE A DAY, RAJA RANI VILAIYAATU an interesting game which is played in the house holds of Tamil Nadu will be presented in detail.

At first basic requirements of the game:

Number of persons: Minimum 5

Preferred age group: Above the age of 10

Duration of the play: half an hour

Best time to play:  Any time of the day

Preferred surface: on the floor where five people can sit in a circle

Things required to play: paper, pen

How to play: The play begins with the selection of the epic from which the names of the characters are to be written on the papers. If Ramayana is selected, then the characters like Rama, sita, laksmana, bharatha, shatrunga and hanuman are written on the bits of papers and are equally and identically folded. Number of characters selected should be equal to the number of players in the game.





If the epic Mahabharataha is selected then the characters should be from that Epic only. All papers should be shuffled well and placed on the floor. Then all the players should pick up one paper each and should read the written character to only themselves and should be a secret to others. The main character Rama should raise his hand, and confirm the character found in the paper. He/she should identify the character unanimously selected by all the other players. It can be sita, Lakshmana, bharata, shatrunga or hanuman. If he/she identifies the player of the selected character correctly he /she will get a point or else he /she is out.  The winner is the player who gets the maximum points. The same procedure is repeated for about 3 or 4 rounds

 

Reference to this game: The reference to this can be found in texts books of children. This game aids to introduce children to the characters of the epics. With this game children learn about the Epics and moral stories in it. They can include any character from the epic.
