The Divya kshetram "Tiruvallur" is located on Chennai - Arkonam railroad. The presiding deity is Veeraghava perumal in a reclining posture with His right hand blessing the devotees. The deity is supposed to cure all diseases and is called 'Vaidya Veeraraghavan"
The Goddess is Kanakavalli thayar is enshrined in a separate shrine. The sacred water is Hritabhanasini pushkarini and the sanctum sanctorum is Vijayakoti Vimanam.
New Moon day is considered to be auspicious to worship at this kshetram. Especially the new moons of the two Tamil months are of a grand event here. They being one of Thai and the other in the month of Aadi. People from different parts of the country come here to offer their blessings to the Lord and receive his blessings especially for their good health and well being. Near the temple tank many people perform annual rites and ceremonies to their ancestors.
Today being the New moon of Tamil month Thai, let all offer our prayers to the Lord and seek his immense blessings on all of us to be happy and healthy in our lives.
