Every creator’s journey may look like a solo act from the outside, but behind every step forward is a quiet, powerful supporting cast. As I look back on this year, I feel deeply grateful to a few individuals whose encouragement, trust, and generosity strengthened my confidence as a reader, reviewer, and writer.
Egor Klopenko is the first name
that comes to mind. After I read and reviewed two of his books, he took the
time to read my reviews closely. What followed was truly affirming—he
appreciated my perspective and offered me the opportunity to read and review
his upcoming book. Not just that, he assured me that my review would be
published in the book itself. For a reviewer, that gesture meant more than
recognition; it was validation. His trust inspired me to take my work more
seriously, refine my voice, and believe that my words carry value.
The second pillar of encouragement
this year was Deepa Padmanabhan. After reading my blog, she showed immense
confidence in my work. When I reached out requesting a chance to read and
review her book, she graciously agreed and sent me a review copy. That simple
yet powerful act of faith felt like a gentle push forward—an assurance that my
efforts are being noticed. Her encouragement reminded me that kindness and
support from fellow writers can shape journeys in meaningful ways.
The third person I am grateful for
is Saba Mahjoor. I have long been a regular reader of her newspaper columns and
a follower of her Instagram account. What continues to impress me is her
accessibility and warmth. Whenever I share something with her, she responds; whenever
I ask a question, she answers. Seeing an established writer and columnist take
the time to encourage and engage with an upcoming blogger like me is truly
inspiring. It reinforces the belief that genuine mentorship doesn’t always come
formally—it often arrives through simple, thoughtful interactions.
This post is my small way of
saying thank you. These three individuals reminded me that encouragement
matters, belief matters, and that every kind word can quietly fuel a creator’s
journey forward.
