Ralph Waldo Emerson's prayer of
thanks is a Thanksgiving poem expressing gratitude for life's blessings. It
includes expressions of thanks for nature, health, food, love, and friends.
Accept, O Lord, our thanks and
praise for all you have done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole
creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the
mystery of love. We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and the
loving care surrounding us on every side.
This form of prayer helps us
to be grateful for God's many blessings, spiritual and temporal, and helps us
to recognize and appreciate all the good things God gives to us.
