DANCE YOUR WAY FOR ENDURING ENERGY LEVELS

Dance, the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement itself.

The words "dance" and "dancing" come from an old German word "danson," which means "to stretch." All dancing is made up of stretching and relaxing. The muscles are tensed for leaping and then relaxed as we make what we hope will be a gentle and graceful landing.

Dancing can also help with low energy. Research shows that a weekly dance program can help improve physical performance and increase energy levels.   Research from The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition found a weekly dance program can improve adults' physical performance and increase their energy levels. Of course, the faster you dance, the faster your heart will beat, which can lead to a stronger and healthier heart.

Hence dancing lowers stress and anxiety. Dancing exercises the heart, lungs, muscles, joints, and ligaments, and in doing so it tests your balance, muscle strength, and coordination. But more than that – dancing also requires cognitive skills and memory.

Scientists have found that the areas of the brain that control memory and skills such as planning and organizing improve with exercise. Dance has the added dimensions of rhythm, balance, music, and a social setting that enhances the benefits of simple movement – and can be fun!

Through movements of the human body, dance conveys the whole range of human emotions; tells stories; and strengthens, disciplines, and refreshes the whole person. For many of the world's people, dance also has the power to heal, to provide salvation, and to invoke and appease deities.

Unlike other forms of exercise, dance improves upon these factors in a fun and creative way that serves to promote spatial intelligence, physical expression and imagination. Certain types of dance also appear to improve posture, contributing towards overall musculoskeletal fitness.

Moreover Dancing is also a form of both aerobic and anaerobic exercise, which is a great calorie burner, Dr. Gardner says. “Jumping and twirling movements are great aerobic training, while holding positions of squatting and balance positions can turn on the anaerobic energy system,” she explains.

Dance is a powerful healer. It will bring both the benefits to the nervous system and the emotionally healing aspects of the expressive movement arts. So, dance can help us work through past traumas, feel and heal emotions, relax muscles, breathe more deeply, and stimulate the flow of energy.

Thus dance act as an energiser and promotes quality energy levels. Do dare to take up dance steps and be energetic throughout the day. Read here to know more about dance and the way it hikes energy levels.
