1. Prepare the fruit- currants, sultanas, raisins, cherries, mixed peel
2. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy
3. Add the eggs gradually and beat well
4. Stir in the flour
5. Add the fruit treacle, lemon rind and spice
6. Put into a 18cm cake tin lined with paper
7. Cook in moderate oven 150 -160 degree for about 3 hours
8. Keep it in airtight tin.
