TIPS TO STAY FIT AND MANAGE COLD WINDS



Cold winds are the winds that rise up from the earth's surface and have a low temperature. These winds often cause freezing temperatures, even sometimes resulting in snow. Cold local winds are also known to bring air pollution along with them.

After retreating of south-west monsoon from India, winter or cold weather season starts. It starts from December and lasts till March. But these days it seems to have started a bit early in Chennai. Winds that blow in winter are dry because they do not arise from water bodies and are hence called offshore winds.
Dress in as little as is comfortable to maintain your body temperature rather than adding more layers than necessary. Other easy ways to build tolerance is to switch to cold showers, by slowly lowering the temperature daily, or to gradually reduce the thermostat at home which can also save on energy.
Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing, and a hat. Mittens, snug at the wrist, are better than gloves. Cover your mouth to protect your lungs from extreme cold. Try to stay dry and out of the wind.
As for as possible Stay indoors and minimise travel to prevent exposure to cold wind. . Keep yourself dry, wear multiple laycrs of loose fitting woollen dothing, cove. - your head, neck, hands and toes adequately.
At few stages, cold winds are seems to be better because Cortisol has been found to be lower in our bodies during the colder months, which can lead to lower stress levels and less irritability. Additionally, when we safely exercise in the cold, we experience an increased release of endorphins over working out in warm weather that can lead to exhaustion and dehydration.
“Going out and being active even in winter is important,” says Leibowitz, “but also it's nice to have an excuse to stay home and binge watch and talk with family or friends and catch up on sleep.” While “we could look at this as opportunities, we tend to look at it as 'we're stuck and can't go out.
