VENN DIAGRAM AND ITS FEATURES

A Venn diagram is an illustration that uses circles to show the relationships among things or finite groups of things. Circles that overlap have a commonality while circles that do not overlap do not share those traits. Venn diagrams help to visually represent the similarities and differences between two concepts.

A Venn diagram (also called a logic diagram) is a diagram that shows all the possible logical relationships in a finite collection of different information sets. Venn diagram is a diagram used to represent all possible relations of different sets.
Venn diagram represents propositions as well as classes
It can provide clear method of notation
It can provide the direct method of testing the validity of categorical syllogism.
There are three types of Venn diagrams; a two-circle, three-circle, and four-circle diagram.
In the venn diagram method the three overlapping circles are drawn for testing a categorical  syllogism.
In their most basic form, you have two circles that each represent a thing or a group, and the overlap represents the combination of the two. Non-overlapping areas represent separation. The entire area of the diagram, including the space outside the circles, represents all possible values, groups, or populations.
A Venn diagram provides a clear way to express the relationships between entities, and particularly where two or more things have overlapping attributes. Venn diagrams simply make data visualization easier, which is why they are commonly used in presentations and reports.
Venn diagrams are named after British logician John Venn. He wrote about them in an 1880 paper entitled “On the Diagrammatic and Mechanical Representation of Propositions and Reasonings” in the Philosophical Magazine and Journal of Science.
