DETAILS ABOUT A FAMOUS TEMPLE ON THE TOP OF THE HILL

This temple town of Sholingapuram is located on Chennai Katpadi railroad closer to Arakonam. This place can be reached by road from Tiruttani.

Sholingapuram gained its name as a chola king found a lingam at this place. This place is also called as TIRUKKADIGAI. Pilgrims flock to this temple during the Tamil month of Karthigai which is during November 15th to December 15th.

There are three shrines one at the foot of the hill, another on a small hillock, and one on  a steep hill. The presiding deity in the base temple is  Lord Bhakthavatsala perumal and the goddess Amritavalli. The sacred water is Amriitha theertham and the sanctum sanctorum is simhagoshtakriti vimanam

The temple on the hillock has a shrine for yoga Anjaneya with four arms holding sanku (Conch) and chakra (Disc)

On the hill temple is yoga Narasimhar in a seated posture and there is a separate shrine for the Goddess.
