4 INTERESTING POINTS TO KNOW ABOUT "PHRASAL VERB"

 *  Phrasal verb refers to a distinct construction in English where a verb and  a particle or a verb and a preposition or a verb with a particle and preposition  form a single semantic unit.

- "brought up", "give in", "put up with"

* Their meaning cannot be taken as the meanings of the parts in isolation.

*For example, "fall back on" means "to rely on" and is not related to "fall" or "back".

* Some  of them are transitive and some are intransitive.

* Their non - compositionality makes them interesting for the linguists and difficult for the non-native users of the language.

1. The chairman came to give away the certificates to the most deserving students

2. The machine makes use of the principle of digital sorting.
