Reunion is a post war play, contains an important message for the world of today about the ills of war. The play is written by W. St. John Taylor, one of the post -war dramatists, is a very skillful playwright. His play is representative of this genre of writing that questioned the idea of war and violence and strove to instill the lost ideals and values.
The play REUNION, set in 1950, presents a vivid contrast between what a group of men faced with death vow to do with their lives if they got a second chance and what they actually do when they are given that chance.
In the second world war, during the historic battle of Dunkirk, seven men surrounded in a ruined farm house with no escape. They chose one of the men to slip through and fetch help. Before the man left, a pact was made with the others that if the rest of them escaped, they would all meet in a club after ten years, on the same day and celebrate the event.
But only four among the seven could keep to that promise. Grayson , the brother of the man who had sacrificed his life for others, comes to the reunion in his brother's place and takes the four men to task for the way in which they had misused the second chance they were given in life.
