I happen to come across the word : TSUNDOKU, I was surprised enough to see a word for "simply keeping unread books one upon the other" ! The spelling, the word & the meaning , all the three were interesting.
In olden days when many can't afford to buy books, they go in search of libraries and friends. Sharing used to be the norm at that time. The absence or lack of a book doesn't exist. Later as the days and years progressed, the book buyers too grown in large numbers with many publishers. Book sales were high at their own phase. Book lovers enjoyed all the attention as well as packages & discounts.
The joy of reading doubled as the access to various genres of books expanded. The excitement in opening the parcel of a hard bound book & looking at the cover image is always a energizing act. Further more the eagerness to start reading is unstoppable. This is my experience with a new book.
Then how come the TSUNDOKU happen? Its never happened with me.
When not interested to read, then why buy books ?May be I think "TSUNDOKU-ERS", create a library of their favourite collection of book and plan to read them in the later part of their lives. or
When they feel or wish to read a book, there should be some book of their choice at their immediate disposal know !Then comes TSUNDOKU handy.
This was new for me, quite an interesting word indeed :)
