4 POINTS ON THE MODERN AGE (1901-2000)


1.     Historically the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 may be taken to signify the end of the Victorian Age and the beginning of the Modern Age. However, the spirit of the Modern Age has set in long before the official end of the Victorian Age.

2.    With the onset of the modern Age, new experiments are being made in the literary field.

3.    The full length five Act plays are being replaced by Three Act or One Act plays.

4.     Long novels were replaced by short stories.
