POINTS ON PRESERVING ORANGE JUICE

1.    Select uniformly ripened oranges
2.    Wash in cold running water till surface soil and arsenic material is removed to prevent contamination.
3.    The fruits are cut into halves with stainless steel knife and the juice is extracted by using juice extractor
4.    The collected juice is filtered through muslin cloth to have uniform juice
5.    The juice is measured and accordingly calculated amount of preservative (Sodium benzoate) is added. 1000ml of juice requires 1gm of sodium benzoate.
6.    The juice is immediately filled into clean sterilised bottles and the corks tightened
7.    The bottles are stored in a cool and dry place.
